With regard to new digital uses, the city of Montluçon wished to set up a guided tour in the medieval city of Montluçon, mixing various technologies from one remarkable point to another: virtual reality, 360° photo shooting, videos, images, sounds, mini-games, etc.

To meet these ambitions, Montluçon chose the company Rendr. Expert since 2016 in image synthesis and virtual reality, it has created a range of services dedicated to the enhancement of cities, monuments and historical places for communities, museums and tourist offices.

His application Legendr is a digital tourist guide that allows everyone, regardless of age, language, education or degree of mobility to discover inaccessible historical sites through fun routes and treasure hunts.

“It is 1410 in the midst of the war between the kingdom of France and England. We are informed that an English spy has been spotted in Montluçon. Will you manage to unmask him in time?”

It is with this text that the City of Montluçon introduces the discovery tour of its medieval heritage, including 360° virtual reality experiences of the old Montluçon and the Esplanade of the Castle of the Dukes of Bourbon, reconstructing the city in the period of the 14th – 15th centuries.

The reconstructions in computer-generated images make it possible to discover heritage sites in different periods of history: antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Pre-War.

This innovation, derived from the technology of animated films and video games, offers both an understanding of the historical mille-feuille and a new way to help visitors discover lesser-known cultural sites

Mini games and interactive content

Legendr integrates mini-games and interactive content into its routes, designed to stimulate the interest of the youngest audiences, offer a visit experience close to the Adventure Game and Escape Game, while offering visitors MCQs and challenges that allow them to learn and discover historical anecdotes in a fun way.

The tour will start at the Porte des Forges near the Coeur de France Valley Tourist Office, which will naturally be the most suitable place to have visitors download the app and sell them, if they wish, the viewing glasses/cardboard.

For the whole family (from 7 to 77 years old).

Communication kits for the general public including a tote bag type fabric bag, a cardboard viewer/cardboard operating with a compatible smartphone, will be offered for sale to the public at the rate of 5 € the complete kit.

It is nevertheless possible to follow this course without the help of a viewer/cardboard.

The educational farm of Domaine de la Ganne in Prémilhat

On about 50 hectares, the farm hosts a herd of Highland cattle, originally from Scotland, but also ornamental poultry, Vietnamese pigs, watusis or other kangaroos and Bennett Wallaby. Multiple activities are offered upon reservation: children’s birthdays, paid guided tour for individuals (2 h approximately), day or half-day at the farm for schools, recreation centers …, direct sales etc.

This complex is equipped with pits from 6 to 20 m deep offering a unique opportunity to introduce you to diving.

The Aquatic Area, a real leisure area dedicated to swimming and water games, consists of a 50-meter sports pool and eight water lines as well as a 25-meter outdoor pool, ideal for swimming.
