For twenty years, the Shakers residence in Montluçon will have welcomed and supported more than fifty artists, who have been able, in return, through their creations, the realization of exhibitions, the organization of meetings or workshops of practices to the attention of schoolchildren, to open the montluçonnais to the art of their time and to the most diverse practices and approaches. In fifteen or twenty years, the first residents, young graduates, novice artists, have gone from being emerging artists to confirmed ones, when not stars or icons. Their tenacity has been recognized, as has the value of their work, making them references or figures of contemporary creation.
