Spreading over nearly 10,500 hectares, the Tronçais forest is an ideal playground for hiking in all its forms.

If there were only one walk to take on this massif, it would certainly be the one of the “ Remarkable oaks” (although let’s face it, the choice is not easy…). The route leads to the foot of some of the forest’s most venerable patriarchs, some of them more than four centuries old.

To the rhythm of the bargemen on

the Berry Canal

The former towpath of the Berry Canal between Montluçon and Vallon-en-Sully is laid out as a greenway, it is reserved for non-motorized traffic. Locks, lock houses, canal bridge, drawbridge punctuate your stroll.

Breathtaking landscapes!

The gorges du Cher

Natural area included in the Natura 2000 network, the Cher Gorges offer a spectacular setting with a unique fauna and flora. Footbridges on the Cher river allow you to extend your discovery, especially between Lignerolles and St-Genest. They have also become a must for the now famous and perilous Lavault-Sainte-Anne trail (which takes place every year at the end of February).
