Climb with peace of mind!

Take the high road!

The Gorges du Cher allow the practice of via ferrata and climbing in optimal conditions in the heart of a lush and preserved nature.

The via ferrata and climbing site of the Gorges du Cher will unfortunately remain inaccessible to the public during the entire 2022 summer tourist season, due to the presence of 2 protected species that are the European great horned owl and the peregrine falcon (currently nesting), according to the recommendations of the LPO and the DREAL Auvergne. Security work on the climbing site of Lavault-Sainte-Anne will be undertaken by a specialized company during the month of October, thus allowing an opening of the place during the fall.

Two solutions are available to you to make the most of the sumptuous landscapes
of the Cher Gorges, a Natura 2000 site:

LA VIA FERRATA AND THE CLIMBING ROCHER in Lignerolles.
Located 10 kms from Montluçon in the Natura 2 000 Gorges du Haut Cher area,
the via ferrata will make you experience sensations close to climbing
by taking height.
Paths right on the cliff allow you to evolve with the help
of rungs fixed directly in the rock.
A life line ensures your safety throughout the activity.
Courses are adapted to children from 6 years old.

As for the Lignerolles rock, it is a very well equipped sports site suitable for discovery or training for the most experienced climbers:
80 routes from 3 to 8b.
Note that these two activities are accessible in total autonomy
and that you will have to come with your equipment.

Did you know that?

The site of the Cher gorges is particularly appreciated by lovers of climbing, but not only.
Many hikers or mountain bikers come to indulge in sports as a rule.
The gorges of the Cher also host each year one of the most demanding trails in the Auvergne region every year at the end of February:
