Swimming

For swimming in a natural environment, come and seek coolness in Saint-Bonnet-Tronçais and Valigny. The natural ponds of Saint-Bonnet and Goule offer you, among other things, their equipped and supervised beaches every summer.

Fishing

Little or big, passionate or amateur, for a day, a week or all year round; fishing is a leisure activity available throughout our territory. Along the Cher River, near the water bodies of the Tronçais Forest, on the Canal de Berry or on the Rochebut dam; the diversity of environments offers everyone a diversity of practices!

For the most sporty carnivore fishermen, a “float tube” course is dedicated to them on the Rochebut dam south of Montluçon.

Walking by the water…

In the immediate vicinity of the Montluçonnais urban center, a family walk of 2.8 km follows the banks of the pond of Sault (Prémilhat). Place of fishing, but also base of the Cercle de Voile de Montluçon, many activities are offered.

The former towpath of the Berry Canal between Montluçon and Vallon-en-Sully is developed into a greenway. It is reserved for non-motorized traffic. A course of 22 km almost flat and secure!”

Piece of history related to the industrial past of the 19th century of the Country of Tronçais, the pond of Pirot (Isle-et-Bardais) offers on 7.5 km a course developed always close to the water and presents certain floral and faunal interests.

Initiate and protect

The territory of the Coeur de France Valley is endowed with 3 Sensitive Natural Spaces (ENS). Real tools for the protection and observation of fauna and flora, the ENS of Goule (Valigny), Vauvre (Nassigny) and the Upper Cher Valley (St Marcel en Marcillat) are open to the general public in all seasons.

Visitors, accompanied or on their own, are initiated or made aware of the protection of ecosystems. Because nature is accessible to all, the banks of the pond of St Bonnet are developed on 1 km with the path PMR du Grillon. The duckboards, picnic tables and fishing area are adapted to people with disabilities.
