Partners, organisations, service providers,
this world is yours too!

In this section, you’ll find all the information relating to legislation, the structure of our Tourist Office and the general organisation of our activities.

About our organisation

The “Montluçon, du Cher à Tronçais” Tourist Office, anon-profit organisation under the 1901 Act, brings together elected representatives and tourism professionals.
It was established on 7 November 2017, following the merger of the Montluçon Communauté,Val de CherandPays de Tronçais regions.

The area covered by this organisation comprises a catchment area of approximately 75,000 inhabitantsacross a total of43 local authorities.

Its core mission isto welcome and informvisitors aboutleisureactivities, dining options, accommodationand, more broadly, all matters that make newcomers’ stays easier. This welcome is always provided in the form of ‘sales-oriented advice’ to encourage people to make use of the services available in our area.

The OTSI’s other responsibilities include:organising events, promotion, providing technical support for the implementation of tourism development policies, and managing tourism facilities and services.
These activities are carried out by a team of eight staff members.

These tasks are carried out under a public service delegation agreement, in return for which the various Public Establishments for Inter-municipal Cooperation (EPCI) provide funding covering more than 90 per cent of the Tourist Office’s budget.

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Tourist Office comprises, on the one hand, elected representatives appointed by local authorities, and, on the other hand, representatives from the business and professional sectors who are representative of the activities offered within the Tourist Office’s area of jurisdiction, appointed by the General Assembly.

The Board of Directors meets when convened by the Chair and exercises the broadest powers to ensure the smooth running of the Tourist Office.

Overview of the tourist tax

The tourist tax is payable by any adult who has spent a night in commercial accommodation within the following three inter-municipal communities: Montluçon Communauté, Val de Cher and Pays de Tronçais.

Paid to the accommodation provider at the same time as the service is provided, it is clearly itemised on the invoice issued to the guest.

Accommodation providers pay the sums collected in this way to the PETR (Pôle d’Équilibre Territorial et Rural), which then transfers them to the Vallée du Cœur de France Tourist Office to support the local tourism economy.

Since November 2021, an online declaration and payment system has been introduced across the region.
Using the activation link previously received by email, accommodation providers now have access to this new online service: Tourist Tax – Pays de Montluçon

You will find details of how this platform works, as well as the rates in force for the 2026 tourist tax, via the link below: 2026 Tourist Tax for the Pays de Montluçon – Fixed Rates and 2026 Tourist Tax for the Pays de Montluçon – Proportional Rates.
