The many faces of Hérisson

The tranquillity of the banks of the Aumance, the exquisite Saint-Pierre Church in Châteloy, the Porte de l’Enfer and the Porte de Gateuil all bear witness to the village’s astonishing cultural richness. A vibrant community since the 19th century, the town has managed to retain its artistic spirit and offers visitors theatre and music festivals, artist residencies and numerous exhibitions.

Another charming and remarkable city

Ainay-le-Château

A medieval village in the north of the region

The charming medieval town of Ainay-le-Château owes its glorious past to its strategic geographical location, at the junction of the Berry and the Pays de Tronçais regions in the Bourbonnais. From dried-up moats to restored ramparts, from the Porte de l’Horloge to the Maison des Gardes, via the Church of Saint-Étienne and the Chapel of Saint-Roch; a stroll through Ainay le Château reveals a wealth of heritage gems…

Although its fortified castle has now disappeared, Ainay remains a remarkable village.
